Deaf Biblical Ministries in Nagaland India

The Deaf Biblical Ministries school is dedicated to providing education, healthcare, housing, and spiritual guidance exclusively to deaf and poor students. The school's monthly food sponsorship of $25 per student ensures their well-being. Spirit Media's long-term compassion project has sponsored 13 students; more will be added monthly. The school's unique approach integrates the gospel into every aspect of its operations, with every student taking Jesus as their savior and adding another child to heaven. Anyone can contribute through SM Gives to support the school's mission and make a difference in the students' lives.

These are the 13 children that we have sponsored:

  • Rahim and Rejikul - Two Muslim brothers whose father committed suicide two years ago were also abandoned by their mother, who remarried a year ago. Their grandmother, who is now their legal guardian, has no income.

  • Shingmei - He is from the Phom tribe, and his parents live in a remote village where children are not sent to school. Instead, they are expected to accompany their parents to the jungle to search for food.

  • Anjana - Living with her Hindu parents in Manipur after coming from Nepal, this girl's mother is blind, her father has physical disabilities, and she attends DBM to become a gospel torchbearer for her family.

  • Tsaying - This 5-year-old boy is from the Sangtam tribe, and his parents are cultivators/laborers who cannot afford to support his education.

  • Berila - She belongs to the Yimkhung tribe, and her parents are cultivators like most Naga families. Living hand to mouth, they cannot support their child's education.

  • Sukuraj - He is a 10-year-old boy hailing from Assam, and his father works as a daily wage laborer.

  • Ekhoudiheing - He comes from Manipur, and his parents work as cultivators but cannot afford to send their children to school due to their limited income.

  • Jangminlun - He is from an interior village in Peren District, and his parents, who work as laborers, cannot support his education.

  • Kana -She is a 7-year-old girl who is deaf. Her father abandoned her mother when she was young, and now, her mother cannot provide for her education.

  • Rhythm - A courageous 10-year-old girl from a family of cultivators and laborers. Despite being deaf and suffering from epilepsy, she continues to face life head-on.

  • Phyobeni - She is not the only deaf person in her family, as her mother, uncle, and aunt are also deaf. Her father also has physical disabilities, and her illiterate parents cannot afford to support her education.

  • Nang Kana - She is a 12-year-old girl from a Buddhist family in Assam. Her parents work as cultivators/laborers. Our hope is that she will one day assist us in spreading the gospel to the Buddhist community.
